Back in the Boat

I am back from the IMB Trustee meeting in Atlanta. The takeaway from this meeting is WOW! It was incredible to hear all that God is doing across the globe and the amazing thing is that He is inviting us to join Him. One of the overwhelming realizations when you get to hear news from across the world, is that God is allowing us to join Him. I pray that we as Southern Baptist will renew our efforts and not forgo this opportunity that the Lord is putting before us!

As is typical we get to meet the M's who will be appointed on Wednesday night, and what a treat it is. God is calling some amazing people to go out from among us to carry the Gospel to the nations.

Another treat is the friendships that are made with my fellow Trustees. In the picture is Thurman Hayes (VA) and Blake Withers (CA). We are at an Atlanta landmark sampling some fine southern cuisine-The Varsity!

Anchor Way I will see you Sunday!

Day 1 of Atlanta IMB meeting

Day 1 came early as I was greeted with hotel workers sanding the handrail outside my room this morning. Glory! After a good cup of heavenly go juice- I was ready to meet the day. Last evening I took one of our M's to my parents house for some southern grub. It was a delightful time. I really desire that when the IMB comes to Denver, we (as a church) will have an opportunity to meet our M's. They are really some of the best among us.

This AM, met Mom and Dad at the Gospel Bird House (aka Chick-fil-a)! Now off to the first of a series of meetings that will last through Wednesday.

Keep those on our prayer lists (Lynn has sent several urgent requests) in your prayers. Also, keep this meeting in your prayers as well.

Blessings
Kevin

Welcome to Anchor Way from DIA

WELCOME!

I am not in Steamboat this morning, but I did want to say welcome to each of you from DIA. I am on the way to an IMB meeting in Atlanta and will be back Wednesday. This morning we are blessed to have Steve Hoekstra (sp?) who will be bringing the sermon. Steve a a mainstay of all things ministry in Colorado-welcome Steve.

I will be giving regular updates and if I can figure out how to upload a video to this thing I will do that (that is code for HELP! Kevin I hit the video tap and nothing happened).

Regardless, have a great day and God bless you!

Joy and JuJu I will be home Wednesday night!

Love
Kevin

On the way to ATL 4 IMB

I am leaving early Sunday (0615) to fly to ATL for an IMB meeting. I will have periodic updates on all the goings on! As I have said many times this is an incredibly exciting time to be a Christian. Serving at Anchor Way and the IMB is one of those unexpected blessings that we find in Scripture (cf. Jeremiah 33:3).

In addition to the meeting updates, there may be some shots of some of my FAV eating places!
It has been incredible here in Steamboat (sunny and in the low 70s) so I am sure I will love the weather in HOT'Lanta.

The picture is one taken just north of Steamboat. You can see the devastation that has resulted from the beetle infestation. This infestation has been going on for some time in northern Colorado and "the standing deads" are visible everywhere. It is really a sad sight to see "standing deads" as you drive around in our part of the state. Trees that were once alive and vibrant are now dead as a result of small enemy. Little beetles attack the trees and ultimately kill them. Reminds me of the devastating effects of sin. Small sins, just like the beetles, make their way inside to the very core of the individual and before anyone notices, a "standing dead." May we every be on guard for those small besetting sins which seek our destruction.

Until Sunday

Just Getting Started

I am just getting started so bear with me as it will take some time to get "things up and running."
